MEET OUR TEAM

  • Johannah she/her

    Founder/Executive Director

Johannah moved to Bend, OR in 2013 from Bellingham, WA. She graduated from Western Washington University with a degree in Sociology and a minor in Psychology.

Her passion for animal welfare started when she took a job at a local humane society. She was inspired to be a vocal advocate for animals in her care and developed an understanding of the human-animal bond. Later, she started a job at a low-cost spay and neuter clinic. There she was faced with the overt disparities and hardships individuals with companion animals faced with veterinary expenses and being able to provide for themselves and their families. She knew the importance of helping keep people and pets together and wanted to continue to advocate and help to do so.

Johannah holds certificates in Animal Behavior and Low-Stress handling and is a registered Community Health Worker (CHW)

  • Carol she/her

    Director of Operations

Carol has lived in Central Oregon for over three decades. Prior to moving to Oregon, she began her career as a zookeeper and later transitioned into veterinary medicine. She is a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) with additional credentials as a Certified Veterinary Business Leader (CVBL), Certified Compassion Fatigue Professional (CCFP), Certified Fear Free Professional (FFCP), and Human–Animal Bond Certified (HABc), and she serves on the advisory committee for the COCC Veterinary Technician Program. Her diverse background includes wildlife care and rehabilitation, equine practice, and small animal medicine, spanning general practice, specialty, and emergency care. Carol’s experience ranges from hands-on patient care as a licensed veterinary technician to supporting veterinary teams in leadership roles at both local and national levels. Passionate about the well-being of animals and the people who love them, she is a strong believer in the power of the human–animal bond and joined CAMP to help provide access to veterinary care while strengthening community support and animal health. Her favorite part of her work is hearing CAMP clients’ stories about how much their pets mean to them and being able to help keep pets healthy, comfortable, and together with the people they are bonded to and who love them.
