TO PROCURE A SECOND OUTREACH VAN FOR CAMP!

WHO IS CAMP?

Companion Animal Medical Project (CAMP) is a homegrown, grassroots 501c3 nonprofit organization in Central Oregon. Established in 2020, CAMP provides free veterinary care - both preventative and urgent - to the unhoused population of Central Oregon.

Our mobile veterinary clinic travels throughout Central Oregon, providing essential care to houseless pet owners. However, as our outreach expands, so does the need for our services. Since 2020, we've extended our services to four new cities, each with multiple houseless communities. To meet this growing need, we are seeking another outreach van. With your support, we can reach more communities, providing crucial assistance to pets and their humans.

Animal-focused and human-centered.

In Henry’s words:

How did I choose CAMP?

I chose CAMP because as I searched for an organization for my project, I wanted it to be local so I could see the impact I made in my community. I started by looking at the animal welfare section of the Central Oregon Give Guide. I saw CAMP's page and wanted to learn more, so I went to their website and watched their video. My mom and I were moved by their motto of serving without judgment. Then we got to meet with Johannah (the CAMP director) and I was fully convinced that this was my service project!

What is a mitzvah (good deed) service project?

Everyone can interpret a mitzvah project in their way, and some don’t value it. For me, I consider it as your first move into making your community a better place. As I move through this Jewish right of passage, I think leading my community is a way of taking responsibility for things that matter to me. As a leader, I’d like to inspire others to act too!

Why did I choose CAMP?

I chose CAMP (Companion Animal Medical Project) because I’ve always loved animals so much and feel so bad when I see that an animal and a person do not have the support they both deserve.

What are you asking for?

When speaking with Johannah about a need that CAMP has, we realized a big barrier for the CAMP team to reach their goal of serving multiple cities in Central Oregon is that they can’t be in two places at once… My goal is to raise enough money for an additional van so that CAMP can serve more pets and their humans in more places!
